Dust monitoring is important to ensure your employees are not being exposed to levels that may cause them respiratory tract irritations or scarring on the lungs. This hazard can easily go unnoticed, and fine dust cannot always be visible to the naked eye.
Dust exposure is one of the most common hazards that K2 measures. We are accredited for inhalable and respirable dust sampling. We also monitor for ultrafine particulates, which can travel into the blood stream as a result of their very small size.
We offer personal and area monitoring.
Personal monitoring results can be directly compared to the workplace exposure standards, whereas area monitoring is used as an indication of exposures. Personal monitoring is where employees wear a small monitor on their waist for the length of their entire shift.
Ultrafine particulate (UFP) can only be monitored via area monitoring.
